Programs offered
 

Rustomjee Institute for training and education offers training and learning programs for teachers, with the aim of creating leaders in the field of education. The programs are one year practice-based qualifications for professional development, equipping a teacher to meet the demands of today's dynamic and challenging classroom.

Programs offered

1. Cambridge International Diploma for Teachers and Trainers (CIDTT)

The CIDTT program is designed to reflect on the typical cycle of learning and development. It is based on four modules corresponding to the different roles and responsibilities of a teacher.

Module 1 Design
Planning and preparation.
Module 2 Practice Teaching and learning in action.
Module 3 Assessment Assessing progress and achievement.
Module 4 Evaluation Improving teaching and learning.

Assessment, Results & Certification

  • Assessment is on the basis of the assignments submitted to CIE, UK. A total of 4 assignments are to be submitted over the duration of the program, one assignment per module.
  • These assignments are practical and based on day-to-day professional work
  • Pass and Distinction grades are awarded for successful performance in each Module.
  • To achieve the full Diploma, candidates must successfully complete all four Modules.
  • The full Diploma is, also, graded Pass or Distinction. For the award of a certificate with Distinction, candidates must achieve at least three Distinctions out of the four modules of the Diploma.
  • Any changes in the certification fees charged by CIE, UK will have to be borne by the student.
  • The fees are inclusive of all course materials, study notes, sample assignments and CD Pathway.
  • Additional costs incurred in field visits, domestic tours, activities will have to be borne separately.
  • The fees paid to Cambridge are for a single attempt only. Re-appearance for any module will be charged separately by CIE.

2. Rustomjee Early Child Care and Education Diploma (RECCE)

Aimed primarily at individuals who desire to teach younger children, the diploma is a practice based one year program with focus on developing the requisite skills for enhancing the overall,holistic development of young learners.

The syllabus includes the following subjects :-
Principles of pre-school education
Child Psychology & Development
Methods & Materials
Organization of pre-school activities
Curriculum Design & Theories of Education
Pre-school Design

Assessment, Results & Certification

  • Besides regular submissions of journals and models for assessment,there will be two term examinations and 15 lesson observations.
  • Students are required to gain hands on experience with the preprimary classroom through internship at the school.
  • At the end of the course, students receive a Diploma as well as an experience certificate.
